Pictures by Carlos Ernesto Figuera

March 18, 2003

Carlos Ernesto Figuera discovered my blog recently and has many good pictures of the last few months. I initially thought I would insert them according to chronology, but will just add them at the end describing what they are. Above, From December 7th. in Altamira, the day after the assasination, flowers on the ground where on of three persons was killed. Some things should never be forgotten. More pictures by Carlos Ernesto inside.

Naked protests get more interesting

February 23, 2003

Things are getting more interesting in the world of naked protests. All recent records were beaten in Byron Bay, Australia when 750 women stripped and made a heart and the sign “No war inside” (below left). Not to be outdone (but they were) 250 men tried to match them, but failed in beating them when they spelled “Peace Man”, Curiously or tastefully, only the picture of the women was covered in detail. Only picture of the men protest was at the picnic aftwerwards (below right). Checking on a huge protest in Chile in the 70’s

The 24 hour protest

January 25, 2003

When I first heard of the plan to hold a 24 hour protest I was dubious. The idea of filling 4 Kms. of a ten lane highway seemed too diffuse to work, thus I was pleseantly surprised to see how many people showed up this afternoon (top left), ready to protest, ready to stay till tomorrow sleeping in the highway (top right). (More photos inside in the Pictures section on your left)
