I am still outisde the country on a family matter and will not be able to report on today’s events. I leave you with a poster from the Maracaibo march which tells us what the problem is:
Observations focused on the problems of an underdeveloped country, Venezuela, with some serendipity about the world (orchids, techs, science, investments, politics) at large. A famous Venezuelan, Juan Pablo Perez Alfonzo, referred to oil as the devil's excrement. For countries, easy wealth appears indeed to be the sure path to failure. Venezuela might be a clear example of that.

I just saw an Associated Press report that RCTV had been removed from cable systems.
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) – Venezuelan cable television providers stopped transmitting a channel critical of President Hugo Chavez on Sunday, after the government cited incompliance with new regulations requiring the socialist leader’s speeches be televised on cable.
Radio Caracas Television, an anti-Chavez channel known as RCTV that switched to cable in 2007 after the government refused to renew its over-the-air license, disappeared from the airwaves shortly after midnight.
RCTV was dropped just hours after Diosdado Cabello, director of Venezuela’s state-run telecommunications agency, said several local channels carried by cable television have breached broadcasting laws and should be removed from the airwaves.
…
Probably not unexpected, I guess.

The Reuters report is making the rounds in English and Spanish. A little tidbit: one of the guys moving the drugs is Luis Correa, formerly with ONA and Jesse (Jessica) Chacon’s brother-in-law. Luis has had many government posts including head of electronic eavsdropping for Disip. Luis is a hothead and loose canon, he once stuck his gun inside an innocent American’s mouth… that incident led to his termination from Disip by Eliezer Otaiza. Luis lost one of his jets (a Gulfstream) loaded with cocaine in a screw-up in Margarita. That plane was bound for Africa. Luis also led the cover-up of the Mexican cartel DC-9-15 with a record cocaine haul that took off from Maiquetia.
If Luis is involved, Jessica has to know. Same for Godgiven Hair’s brother who ran Simon Bolivar airport at the time of the DC-9 incident meaning Godgiven Hair has to know.
