Friday night, President Chavez ordered a nationwide TV address to broadcast the swearing in of the highest authorities of his party. Thus party and Governemnt are merged into one in what is clearly a case of corruption and inmorality by the President hismlef. Where is the Attorney General? This is the type of abuse of power and blatant corruption going on in Venezuela. Who can defend this?
The Devil's Excrement
Observations focused on the problems of an underdeveloped country, Venezuela, with some serendipity about the world (orchids, techs, science, investments, politics) at large. A famous Venezuelan, Juan Pablo Perez Alfonzo, referred to oil as the devil's excrement. For countries, easy wealth appears indeed to be the sure path to failure. Venezuela might be a clear example of that.
