Luisa Estella Morales is truly a piece of cake. She spews BS like there is no end to it. After the Supreme Court accepted the case to ban leading opposition candidate Herique Capriles on trumped up corruption charges, she swiftly turned around and discarded the case because the accused misrepresented himself when presenting the case as holding a certain position in Chavez’ PSUV case.
Talk about a silly technicality with no legal basis.
But I guess Luisa Estella, who was removed from the bench, not once, but twice, which apparently qualified her to be Chief Justice of the Venezuelan Supreme Court under Chavez, thinks she is on a roll in trying to fool us, and she is trying it once more. Maybe she is right and we are indeed idiots, after all look at what job she holds. Here is the story:
Chavez’ Government approved a Bill imposing a salary cap on public servants. Supreme Court Justices who made at least US$ 7,000 a month, something like 20 times a year, were among those most affected by the decision as their salary would have to roll back to Bs. 12,000. But in their infinite creativity, the Court implemented a food card of Bs. 10,000 for all Justices, around seven times the minimum salary, to complement the “capped” salary of Bs. 12,000.
Except it leaked to the press, not via a leak, or as she calls it, “It was taken to the press in an inaccurate fashion”, but the simple fact that one of the members of the Court (see two posts ago), Blanca Marmol de Leon, rejected the food tickets, because it was undignified and illegal. Marmol de Leon said that this was a “fraud of the law” and it was a way to look for “alternate routes”. Marmol de Leon also said that at least four Justices had rejected the food tickets. I hope we learn who, those guys should stay in the Court, whenever the not so revolutionary “Justices” are swept out of the Court.
And indeed, Luisa Estella confirms, Marmol de Leon’s “alternate route” theory, when she says: “The Court will undertake an extensive review, from a legal point of view”.
Jeez, I thought that was what they did all the time; look at things exhaustively from a legal (and supreme) point of view.
But since she is ready to assume we are stupid, she said: “It is not a bonus, it is not a food ticket, it is for our expense account”
I guess someone has to pay for lunch when they go meet with the party hacks who tell them how to rule and sentence in their cases.
And in closing, she tells that she hopes the “people” will not have an erroneous vision and distorted view of the Justices.
No, we don’t, but we certainly seem that stupid!

If Chavez dissappears from scenery, the “salto de talanquera” will be very impressive, recall April 2002, the President of the Supreme Court offered to be President, others switched sides, only to scramble back two days later. Marmol leon is my candiadet to be President of the new court.

This is evidence of the type of power that worries me even after Chavez. If Chavez is on his last leg, the PSUV will still own:
A-The Courts, example the Capriles saga
B-The Military, rationale, Chavez knew this was his Achilles heal. I’m sure he has spent a lot money making sure these guys were taken care of.
C-The money, PDVSA is entirely run by his cronies
Although Chavez is “The Franchise”, the PSUV will still wield a big stick without him.

I stopped as soon as I started, to find any logic or consistency with legal (constitutional) principle in everything related to this Solicitud de Antejuicio of Capriles Radonski. There isn’t any!
Now I wonder how they accepted the suit by the by the PSUV (now ex) hack Gersón Pérez in the first place. Maybe with the Fuhrer away on treatment, they got the wrong signal and thought that he wanted it, so jump! don’t think! logic be damned!.
Now they had to undo the damage, and they undid it just as they did it. Mindlessly. Using the Medulla Oblongata. Now, who is going to believe that anything termed Justice relates to them? Not because they produce unfair decisions… but because their decisions are reflex acts of obedience. A trained dog has more sense than these people as is.
Also: I don’t want it to happen, but I am anticipating these Supremely Corrupt nincompoops will make one of their not-so-bright moves on JudgeMarmol de Leon. They might prevail temporarily because they have might on their side. But the best fate they will suffer is oblivion, because ignominy awaits them.

An excellent story, however…..
The greatest political scandal in the history of Venezuela, going all the way back to the time Simon Bolivar was still walking this planet, has yet to be uncovered. It’s staring everyone in the face. It’s a bright, flashing neon light in the middle of the night. It’s at the very heart of,…..everything. Venezuela has never experienced anything like it. The magnitude of it all, ….stupifies. Everyone knows what it is, but few dare speak its name. No,…no! Not Voldemort. It is simply the greatest political slush fund of all times,….FONDEN. One day in the not too distant future, a green-shaded accountant, working diligently through the night, will page through the balance sheets of FONDEN and shriek with horror. Gasp! The money went,…where? How much? To whom? And,….why? It may be the biggest political scandal of all time, an par with the near collapse of the French economy as a result of Ferdinand DeLesup’s 19th century attempt to build the Panama Canal. The FONDEN scandal may be bigger,….much bigger.

AS LONG AS THERE ARE SO MANY SELF CENTERED WEAKLINGS OUT THERE WORKING DIRECTLY FOR THE CHAVEZ GOVERNMENT OR GETTING WORK THROUGH CHAVISTA CONTACTS, THEY WILL BE SUPPORTING THIS TYPE OF CRIMINAL AND EVIL USE OF FUNDS.
Then there are the bird brains who pretend to be taking the moral high ground with their socialist ideas as an excuse to support Chavez.
Compassion is not built into a political system, it has to be a part of the values of a society.

The same goes for truth and honor. Both seem to be conspicuously absent in business and government these days. Maybe that’s not a new phenomenon, but the unquestioning acceptance of it is.
I’m trying to think of a single world leader in government or business who is known for being truthful and honest above all else. Maybe someone can help me out.
