I wanted to write a post around this picture, but could not do it…
Would you ask them: Take me to your leader?
or
Would you ask them where is Larry (Fine)?
But, don’t you find it disturbing that these are the leaders of the PSUV and the revolution?
Just scary…

Moctavio, Well, duhhhh. See, that is what happens to an American who spends too long away from his culture. He completely forgets and misses the cultural references. Though, thinking about it, I don’t think I ever knew that Larry’s last name was “Fine”. What is sad, is that in the face of such massive corruption and gross mediocrity, we are absolutely powerless to do anything about it other than to satirize them.

Well i guess when i see this picture, i feel what those who opposed Perez Jimenez feel. Do you?
That rage,sadness,grief and injustice.
I would have preffered Irene Saez as a president.
Look at them, all corrupt, illegal,RICH and powerful.

A Mexican law expert who had the “opportunity” to listen to Escarrá wrote a very revealing article that shows a lot of what Escarrá is.
Escarrá’s contempt for democracy is absolute.

These guys are NOT comic. They are quite sinister, each in his own twisted way. Roland Freisler and Reinhard Heydrich duo, anyone?

Uh… speaking of references, what does the reference to “where is Larry (Fine)?” mean?

Miguel, you should give some reference to your English readers.
Ramírez Chacín owns thousands of hectares (now under the name of his daughters). He is a big landowner but he belongs to the Military Caste.
He also was responsible for killing innocent civilians during years prior to Chávez coming to power (pretending them to be guerrilla).
The US administration also accuses him of drug trafficking and support for FARC. There is a nice video in youtube where one can see Chacín wishing success to the FARC
