A Spanish judge has accused Venezuela of collaborating with Basque separatists and Colombian rebels, and says these two groups plotted to assassinate Colombia’s president.
Judge Eloy Velasco made the allegation Monday in a 26-page indictment in which he charged six members of the Basque group ETA , most of them exiled in Latin America, and seven members of the Colombian leftist rebel group FARC with a variety of crimes including terrorism and conspiracy to commit murder.

In regards to planes with suspect origins, and cargo.

This raises all sorts of flags.

Kepler: like they said about the financial bailouts of certain big institutions in the US: too big to fail.

I asked the guy from UNODC who announced the news about the Venezuelan cocaine plane in Mali…and he did not answer 🙂
Meanwhile I read in Le Journal du Mali that the Malian government is very very hermetic about that plane…before they had announced that “big heads would roll”…perhaps they realised the heards were really too big to roll.

Alek: Thanks for your efforts on getting an update on the Andorra situation.

as Miguel noted at 11.46 am,
BBC is reporting that the Zapatero Government of Spain has asked Hugo for an explanation, and they will be acting in accordance with that explanation.
So it seems that they are willing to take the judge’s charges against Hugo seriously enough to act… and so is the left leaning media.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8544476.stm
I believe also, that the Spanish government isn’t the only one with this knowledge. What perfect timing to make Hugo’s sexual deviance … if any 😉 … known.
March 1, 2010 at 8:52 pm
We have pictures of Hugo with all the Bad Boy leaders of the world except Osama Bin Laden. Numerous incidents of Narco traffic and the money passing thru Venezuela. Money laundering both the “legal” by Petro traficos to offshore banks
and the “malatinadores” who have turned up all over LatAm with the curency of choice USD! Providing money for elections and referendums legal or not! Even without the Laptop captured from the FARC raid, the support by persons in the Venezuelan goverment is a matter of record. Many of these people have been given Venezuelan citizenship and thus safe passage out of Colombia. Make no mistake the Spanish government is not the only one that knows what is going on in Venezuela!
March 1, 2010 at 7:55 pm
Funny how Venezuela’s response is not to say Cubillas never worked for the Government r was not ETA or was monitired by the Government. Instead: These are biased and tendencious accusations.
As Doonesbury used to say:
Guilty, Guilty, Guilty

Arturo is jealous that we do not respect him, so sad, pick up your toys and go find another sandbox.
March 1, 2010 at 7:17 pm
Now, Octavio, not only do you permit people to publish comments on your blog encouraging people to shoot Cubans but you also allow GWEH to publish comments that Chávez molests underage females. You will get in big trouble for this. I’ve already mailed Eva and Blanca at MINCI. Hahahaha….Call my bluff!!!
Could care less who you call, say hi to Eva from me.
March 1, 2010 at 6:23 pm
Being a socialist dictator is one thing. Facilitating a potential murder is another.
March 1, 2010 at 6:21 pm
Oh please do not stop publishing the troll’s comments. It’s the only comedy relief in this horrific drama.
March 1, 2010 at 5:05 pm
I have no doubt about the guilt of Chavez and his government, BUT, as near as I can tell, neither Chavez, nor any of his cohorts have been indicted. I hope this leads to it, but so far, from Chavez’s point of view, it’s just another example of deniable imperialist plotting. What’s it going to take to indict these bastards for something?
March 1, 2010 at 4:58 pm
When Chavez came to power, he was very sexually active. Unbeknown to Chavez, his lairs were wired for sound and video. Luis Correa would be in a position to have these tapes.
March 1, 2010 at 4:55 pm
Luis Correa has been cut loose. What does he have on Chavez that makes him untouchable? He has video of Chavez tearing up underage girl. Sad but truth.
March 1, 2010 at 3:58 pm
Arturo (possibly not Cubillas): “If Venezuela/Chávez or any one else in the government were involved in a plot to assassinate Uribe, why are they not indicted as well?”
Because the “indictment” came from a judge, not a goddamn talk show host. The word “indictment” has a specific legal meaning. The investigation was regarding what the FARC and ETA members were planning to do, the fact that Venezuelan government officials assisted them in their goals is a whole other crime altogether, and in case you missed Miguel Octavio’s quote from reuters, at least one employee of the Venezuelan government is included in the arrest warrants.
“Why was no-one from Venezuela named or charged?”
Read MO’s post, 4 posts above yours. At least 1 guy was charged.
March 1, 2010 at 3:42 pm
For fear of feeding the troll…
Read the articles.
AP: “He identified a suspected ETA member, Arturo Cubillas Fontan, as a key figure in links between ETA and the FARC. The man lives in Venezuela, has held a job in the government of President Hugo Chavez and may still have one, the judge wrote. ”
REUTERS: “This shows Venezuelan government cooperation in the illicit collaboration between FARC and ETA,” said High Court Judge Eloy Velasco in a ruling in which he issued arrest warrants for 13 FARC and ETA suspects, including one Spanish-born employee of the Venezuelan government.”
REUTERS: “High Court Judge Eloy Velasco issued arrest warrants for 13 FARC and ETA suspects, including one Spanish-born employee of the Venezuelan government.”
REUTERS: “One of those wanted is Arturo Cubillas, who has, Judge Velasco said, worked for Venezuela’s Socialist government since President Hugo Chavez won elections in 1999.”

Hugo is just crazy enough to take credit for it, even if he didn’t do it. lol
March 1, 2010 at 1:25 pm
Google Jose Arturo Cubillas Fontan, post in vcrisis from 2006…
Gringo, I called the office of Solanelles, journalist from Andorra who published the stuff about chavista bank account. I also got in touch with La Batllia. Neither replied, nor did they send any information. Wonder why…
March 1, 2010 at 11:38 am
Not likely, Uribe is well guarded. Not like the farmers killed by Uribe’s military and paramilitary. I have no doubt that their are plots afoot to kill him, however.(drug barons etc.)
March 1, 2010 at 11:31 am
Maybe this was fuel on Uribe’s fire last week in Cancun. I’m surprised he didn’t punch the guy in the face when he had the chance.
Certainly, we will hear from some Chavista or Chavez himself that the CIA is running Spain justice these days.
March 1, 2010 at 11:21 am
This is the most official, but not the first such accusation. I believe pretty much all of them, but without some damning, irrefutable, smoking gun proof, that’s all it is, another accusation.
March 1, 2010 at 10:17 am
Do you think he would tell the truth if he had done it?
Yo no fui
Yo no fui
Yo no fui.
That reminds me of the Chavista bank accounts that got frozen in Andorra last year. What has happened with them?
March 1, 2010 at 10:16 am
the shit always floats… its just a matter of time before it reaches the surface
March 1, 2010 at 9:10 am
Hugo needs a 50 caliper lobotomy…..get on with it already
March 1, 2010 at 8:28 am
It’s fairly obvious to those well enough informed that it’s difficult to hide your underhanded actions for ever. 11 years is a long time. Even though Venezuela is a country that is not doing enough with regards to fighting crime, others are and slowly but surely proof is emerging. It’s more than likely that this is probably just the tip of the iceberg.
March 1, 2010 at 8:13 am
Say it ain’t so, Hugo!
